What is rascal flatts here comes goodbye about

It could mean that the female in the video is coming to the house she grew up in her fathers and finally letting go of the memories of her father and son? There was an error. Thank you so much finally found song meaning that makes scene other post don't make any scene courtneym8 on July 03, MeganLovesMusicForever I saw the video for the first time a couple of years ago. I've re-watched it many times and I really cannot make the lyrics and the video make sense together..

Not sure why it just frustrates me. Pretty sure I am not stupid :- margie on February 17, I might not be proving myself as the smartest person here right now, but could anyone actually tell me what this song is about?

At first I thought it was just another love song, but after watching the music video it seems to me like someone died or something. Regardless, it's an amazing song.

After watching the music video a few times, I think the older guy is dying and the little boy is like his guardian angel taking him away maybe it's even his son because of later occurances. Towards the end , the little boy is asking the older gentleman if he's ready to go, or die? And then the lady wife, perhaps?

And then in the picture it looks like it's the blonde, the guy and the little boy. So maybe they are a family? Although, the lyrics do sound like a break-up, so I'm not entirely sure. I love the song, and it could mean break up, but the video is about death. I kinda think it's both. I think it's someone coming to notify him of a recent death and then all the thoughts he has as he is grieving his loss, and realizes all the things he will not get to do with her now.

The little boy I think was his son, because as he is talking to the boy playing with the trucks, he says something about were he laid him, and then she tells him to tell her son hello. I am really not sure, because the song kinda sends a different message than the video does.

I also feel that the song has a seperate meaning from the video. The video is about a family that loses a son at first and then the father, and when the father dies, the son comes back to take his father to heaven, or wherever you go after you die. You can tell they are a family because you see a family photo in the video. Although if you just listen to the song it sounds like someone knows that a relationship is going to end, and talks about how horrible its going to be and how they wish things could go back to the way they were.

Xonater on April 08, General Comment Well if anyone's seen the music video it's definately about the younger woman's son dying and then later on her father dies. The son tells the day not to be afraid because in heaven there are "no more goodbyes" As for the song, I think that the father is talking in the first verse and he's looking down from heaven and he's saying it's not like his daughter to drive that slow and that nothings on the radio and she usually walks into the house but she knows that her mother is about to tell her some bad news and her father knows the news that she's about to get here comes goodbye..

Then in the second verse clearly it's the mother speaking because she's saying how she looked forward to the day she could see her husband walking her daughter down the aisle on her wedding day. It's an amazing song, very well written and the music is beautiful! That's just my interpretation of the song C: eco09 on April 24, Link. General Comment I always thought, before i saw the video, that it was about a girl coming to break up with a guy and he's heartbroken. I agree! If you have never seen the video, you would take the song as written, ie: A girl is coming to break up with her boyfriend.

The video only confuses the song. General Comment breezy03 on February 05, Link. No Replies Log in to reply. Good song.

I wanna be more familiar with it though : so beautiful! Good job yall! My Interpretation I think this song is about a woman going off to college, and leaves her little boy with her parents and her dad and son die while she is away, plz reply if you have an idear!!!!!!!! First we need to clarify that the connection to this video and the one for "What hurts the most" may or may not be a truth, but that does not matter. So my interpretation is that in the beginning the Grandfather and the Grandson are waiting on the daughter's arrival.

When the daughter arrives she greets the only other living family member She then proceeds to the cemetery where her father and "possibly" her son is buried.

This is clearly her first time at the cemetery, which means her father must have died while she was away. The last part of the video brings everything together. When the little boy says "Are you ready? It also clarifies that the grandson has been in heaven.

The long and short of it is, the boy died first and the main focus of the video is on the Father's last goodbye to his daughter not vice versa. That's why the video starts the way it does. This song is a continuation of the earlier song "what hurts the most. She blamed het dad for her boy friend's the baby's father death. This caused distance between her and her father, but thy obviously reconciled due to the family photo. The small boy dies first causing her to leave home and become estranged.

This is her first time back and she didn't get to see her father before he died. You can tell this from the age difference.

He left smiling. It looked like they were still in love and got into an accident. Got killed and never knew she was carrying his child. That's why they could not go on. This song is about a couple
